Siempre había querido vivir durante un tiempo en otro país. Así que, cuando una amiga me habló del voluntariado internacional, una luz se encendió en mi cabeza. Era mi oportunidad. La oportunidad de vivir una nueva experiencia, conocer gente, colaborar con una ONG y compartir mi cultura al tiempo que conocía otras nuevas. A finales de julio, por fin, me lo confirmaron: ¡Cracovia me esperaba!

El 1 de octubre aterricé en tierras polacas con la maleta llena de ilusión. Comencé a conocer a los demás voluntarios, 20 en total, de siete países diferentes. Aunque éramos distintos, creamos una familia multicultural en la que había espacio para todos. Juntos, nos divertimos y nos ayudamos a crecer. Ni en mis mejores sueños, imaginé que aprendería tanto en tan poco tiempo. Los nueve meses pasaron como un suspiro entre risas, proyectos y viajes. Sin buscarlo ni esperarlo, encontré el amor y mi mundo cambió. Fue triste acabar el proyecto y decir adiós, pero en mi interior sabía que volvería. Y no me equivocaba: ya tengo el billete. Gracias a esta increíble experiencia, sé que estoy lista para comenzar una nueva etapa de mi vida.

I had always wanted to live for a while in another country. So, when a friend told me about international voluntarism, a light turned on in my mind. It was my chance to live a new experience, meet people, collaborate with an NGO and to share my culture meanwhile I knew another one. Finally, in the end of July, they confirmed: Cracow was waiting for me!

The first of October, I landed in Poland with a luggage full of illusion. I started to meet the other volunteers, 20 people from seven different countries. We created a multicultural family where it was space for everyone. Together, we had fun and we helped each others to grow up. I never could imagine that I would learn so much. These nine months passed as a sigh between laughs, projects and trips. Without looking for or waiting for, I found love and my world changed. Finishing the project and saying goodbye was sad, but I knew I would come back soon. And I was not wrong: I already have my ticket. Thanks to this amazing experience, I know I am ready to start a new time of my life.
