Antes de empezar me llevé la maleta llena de risas, de bonitas despedidas y muchos mejores deseos. Importante llevar los ojos bien abiertos y el corazón muy vacío para poder llenarlo allí. Y con todo eso aterricé en Praga en una fría mañana de febrero, con esa indescriptible sensación de tener tantas ganas como miedo. Y la verdad, que ahora que ha pasado el tiempo y echo la vista atrás, es difícil resumir en 200 palabras una de las mejores experiencias que la vida me ha brindado.

El Servicio de Voluntariado Europeo fue un punto de inflexión, el principio del cambio. Disfrute la vida al máximo esos meses, conocí nuevas culturas, viajé a nuevos lugares, tuve nuevas experiencias e hice amigos de verdad.

Colaboré activamente en el hogar de los niños y jóvenes de Praga y me sentí como en casa, manos abiertas y sonrisas diarias… así se llevaba mejor el frío. Sólo tengo buenas palabras sobre esta experiencia y si de algo o alguien he aprendido, ha sido de mí y eso me reconforta, me hace sentirme orgullosa y viva.

Lamentablemente todos los sueños tienen fecha de caducidad y el SVE no iba a ser menos, había que volver a la rutina… pero con una experiencia más en el corazón.

Before the beginning, i carried my suitcase full of smiles, of wonderful goodbyes and nice wishes. It’s important to have open eyes and the empty heart because you will fill it there. And with all of these things, I went to Prague in some cold morning of February, I wanted to start but at the same time, I was a little bit afraid.

Some time has passed since i was there, and summarise in 200 words about my EVS, is difficult for me… It was one of the best experience of my life!

European volunteer service was a turning point, the beginning of the change. Really I enjoyed this experience, I visited new places, I knew new cultures and I met new real friends.

I worked in the house for children and youth in Prague and believe me that I felt like my home, open hands and smiles daily! With it, the weather is warmer. 

I have only good words, after it, I am feeling much more confident now, and I am proud to know many things about myself.

But all dreams have expiry date and EVS too. I had to come back… but with a more experience in my heart.
